Here is something you should never buy in the store:  Hummus.

I promise it takes less than 10 minutes to make!  All you need to do is keep a jar of Tahini (sesame paste) and a can of chickpeas in your pantry and you are sorted to entertain whenever you have unexpected visits.  

I usually add a special touch sprinkling Sumac on the top of it.   It's awesome!

Now Repeat with me:  I shall never buy Hummus again... I shall never buy Hummus again.  :-)

  • 1 Can Chickpeas (400g) drained and rinsed
  • Juice of one lemon
  • 1/4 Cup good quality olive oil
  • 1 Clove of garlic
  • 1/2 Teaspoon cumin powder
  • 2 Teaspoons Tahini 
  • Salt to Taste
  1. Add all the ingredients to the food processor bowl
  2. Process until almost smooth
