Personally I do love "consumable" presents - way better than giving something that will probably end up getting dusty inside a cabinet, specially when you don't know the person you are giving the present so well.
Gift-in-a-jar is already a classic and this Chocolate Drink that Leslie makes to offer as Christmas presents to her friends is definitely a hit. Believe me, the jar Leslie gave me last week is almost empty already :-)
The packing also makes all the difference - my present came with christmassy colored ribbons and a cute tree card. Very simple and elegant.
Instructions are 1/4 cup of the mixture to a mug of hot water but living in Brisbane where our "white Christmas" peaks 30C (90F), I found out that it is also great if mixed with 250ml cold milk. Use a blender to blend the milk and the powder together for a "foamy" milkshake like drink.
If making it cold, serve it in mini "milk jars" with paper straws for extra flair.
